After a nice time in La Rochelle, we sailed to Port Medoc. Now we are in the last province of the West France coast: the Pyrénées-Atlantiques. But this part, from Port Medoc to Hendaye, is hard to sail. It goes along a large National Park with no possibility of entries or harbors, it’s a 24 hour sail in total. You can stop after 12 hours of sailing at Bassin d’Arcachon, which we did to rest during the night. And then you sail the last part of 12 hours to the first harbor Hendaye. That’s also the last harbor before the Spanish border.
But we had a great 2 x 12 hours of sailing in this part of the Bay of Biscay: good wind, sunshine and other nice boats to sail together. We started at 9.00u and arrived at 21.00u at our destination. At the Bassin d’Arcachon there were only mooring balls to tie your ship to. But in Hendaye we had a nice place at a jetty in the harbor.

Now we are in Hendaye, the last city in France: at the other side of the harbor, we can see Spain already!
